What does drop forging mean and what types of forging work are offered?
Die forging is a hot forming manufacturing process in which metal (in our case steel) is shaped using hammers or presses while in a hot state (approx. 1200 °C). The word "die" describes the two halves of the mold that completely enclose the forging blank during the process. Bernhofer offers forged parts made from all steel alloys weighing between 2.5 and 25 kg.
